The Nissan Altima

Even though my first love will always be my 2003 Dodge Durango, she is a very expensive love. With gas speeding toward the four dollar mark and my 5.9L V8 behemoth barely achieving eleven miles per gallon, I have decided that the best course of action would be to buy a new car. Now after looking around at the endless garbage coming out these days, the designs over at Nissan impressed me, especially the new Altima.

I took a trip over to the local Nissan dealership to test drive an Altima and see if they have one that has all the features I would want. Now a sane man, considering ever rising gas prices would be looking at the Altima hybrid, the four cylinder sedan, or at the very lest the four cylinder coupe. But I have never been known for my sanity, so I have been looking at the V6 coupe. Being a larger guy I was initially concerned that I would not be able to fit into the coupe, but luckily I was very wrong it had more than enough room for me to fit very comfortably.

Driving the V6 Altima coupe is most definitely a pleasure, it has amazing acceleration and speed. The Xtronic CVT transmission with manual mode is certainly nice to have, allowing for both the ease of an automatic transmission, but allowing a little of the feel of having a manual. Anyone who knows me is fully aware of my lead foot and my “aggressive” driving style and te Altima coupe definitely responds and even thrives no matter what I threw at it.

For now I am still looking around at different cars and keeping my options open, but there is a very good chance that I have found my new car.
